Getting right into the good news. Congress has extended and expanded the first-time homebuyer tax credit to include current homeowners!! On November 4th, President Obama signed into law an extension that also includes homeowners that have used their home for 5 of the last 8 years.
Were you also aware that interest rates have dropped even lower? Right now, the average 30 year fixed rate is 4.80%.
The average 15 year fixed is 4.28%. And, if you don't plan to stay in the home for more than 5 years, a 5 year adjustable is only 3.46%!!
There has definitely been some rumbling from the fed threatening to increase interest rates. Now is definitely time to make your move :-)
Last week, we got a helluva deal for one of our clients on a gorgeous Clearwater Beach penthouse. While doing some research, I was amazed to find out that in the last 3 months, 60 Clearwater Beach condos have sold and another 46 are under contract! The cool thing about it: they are being sold for so much less than they were in 2006. Like an average of at least 40% less than the top of the market.
