Hi - Clearwater Real Estate is doing better than people may thing. The next tax cut passed!!

Also, our websites have seen a definite in traffic.

Check this article from NY Times about real estate websites:

Real Estate Web Sites Thrive in Downturn
It looked like bad timing when venture capitalists poured about $50 million in to Zillow, Terabitz, and Trulia just before the downturn began.

But the slowing real estate market turned out to be boon for online real estate companies because advertising and traffic is up.

Trulia CEO Pete Flint wouldn’t disclose sales figures, but he says traffic has been growing more than 10 percent monthly, ''and revenues are growing much faster than that.''

Zillow attracted 20 percent more visitors in December 2007 than in December 2006, according to Spencer Rascoff, Zillow's chief financial officer. ''Our growth actually accelerated in the back half of the year,'' he says. ''In a down market, buyers, sellers and agents need more tools.''

What the rest of 2008 will bring is still in doubt, says Kenneth Cassar, an analyst with Nielsen Online. While the number of visitors to real estate sites — both traditional and those taking a different approach — was up, the number of ads running on real estate sites dropped 31 percent last year when compared with 2006.

Cassar says the people who do come to the sites aren’t looking to buy or sell a house or get a mortgage. They are studying the market to see the impact on their own property.

Nevertheless, Cassar concludes that the overall trend is positive. “People have to live somewhere. ... so there will be a consistent base of activity that'll keep a number of these players quite happy.''
