Hi - Here is a great article from the Tampa Tribune that pertains to Clearwater Real Estate as well as Tampa Real Estate
---------------------------------
TAMPA – Florida's school report card was released today.
Hillsborough County ended up with two failing schools -- Broward and Sulphur Springs elementaries -- compared with five in 2007.
Ten Hillsborough high schools made A grades -- Alonso, Hillsborough, Newsome, Riverview, Plant, Bloomingdale, Sickles, Tampa Bay Tech, Freedom and Gaither -- compared with three in 2007.
Overall, 143 Hillsborough schools earned an A or B, compared with 137 in 2007, said John Hilderbrand, the district's testing chief.
Hillsborough also had one F graded charter school, USF/Patel Intermediate Charter School.
Letter grades have been awarded schools since 1999, computed on a complex, changing formula using Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test scores. Performance of even one or two students can change a school's letter grade.
Schools graded A or those that improve a letter grade will receive about $85 per student -- a drop from $100 per student in previous years. Schools use most of that money for staff bonus.
